Israel
and Yom Kippur
(The Day Of Atonement)
And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that
in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict
your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own
country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: For on that day shall the
priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be
clean from all your sins before the LORD. It shall be a sabbath of rest
unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever. And the
priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the
priest's office in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put
on the linen clothes, even the holy garments: And he shall make an
atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the
tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an
atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation. And this
shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the
children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD
commanded Moses. Lev 16:29-34
This intercession is commanded to be done as a never-ending
statute. The precious Blood of the New Covenant can be used to intercede in
that specific day for the sins of Israel. The most effective intercession for
the sins of our all our brethren can be done in that specific day, the Day Of
The Atonement, (Yom HaKippurim) because they all are Israel.
Leviticus 23:27-32
Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall
be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye
shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And
ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to
make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. For whatsoever soul it
be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from
among his people. And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that
same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. Ye shall do no
manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your
generations in all your dwellings. It shall be unto you a sabbath of
rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at
even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
(Also Numbers 29:7-11).
We are commanded to intercede for Israel and we now know who is
Israel and even who will be Israel. Our intercession can be effective according
to what Elohim command us to do. We are not interceding for a country (we know
that the Lord will also heal the land if people repent); we are interceding for
souls, for people, for the sins of Israel. For the all the house of Israel, the
two houses, all of the descendents is Israel, and for what some call today the
Church; that is the Congregation, the Israel of Elohim. This includes many Jews
because they are part of Israel (but not all Israel), some of them are
believers now, some of them will believe.
As we know Yom Kippur is a prophetic sign of something to come
(even the Day of the Lord) but before that we need to understand completely
what we are doing, what is the purpose of the intercession and then do it. Then
we will see better the prophetic picture of what is to come to fulfill this
feast as a prophecy.
Some brothers say, they even they teach, and can prove and have
revealed that the Blood of YESHUA is today over the Mercy Seat in the Ark of
the Covenant interceding for the sins of Israel. We can see that YESHUA's
sacrifice was the perfect sacrifice.
Always remember that there are many that belong to Israel that
are not yet born again from water and from the Spirit and we are called to
intercede for them in Yom HaKippurim.
In Leviticus 16 there are very specific instructions for the
priests to do in the Day of Kippur. These instructions can show us the way to
intercede in Yom Kippur for our intercession to be effective. First for my
sins, then the sins of my house, then the sins of Israel. When you read the
instructions, found in Leviticus 16, do not force an interpretation, what you
receive from the Scriptures, apply it in your intercession because that is what
YESHUA wants to show you. Remember we are a body, each one of us has a task and
we accomplish the task as a team only if we are obedient to what the Spirit is
showing us to do.
In the Love of YESHUA.
The City of The King.
May He bless you in all and in
all ways.
Glory to the King of Glory,
YESHUA Hamashiach.
Note: Unless otherwise indicated the verses from the Bible are in "light blue" and taken from the translation called "The King
James Version 1769", the literal translations are in "dark blue", the Name YESHUA has been kept in his original Hebrew
form, the Greek word Christos has been kept as Messiah his real meaning.
(*) The expression "the LORD" has been kept
also in his original form of four Hebrew letters, in English Yhuh where
"U" is a "long U", this is the transliteration of the
Hebrew letter "Vav", that YESHUA in His big mercy has revealed to us
was the old way of pronouncing.
